Bringing Heads-Up Technology Back to Suffolk to Save Lives

August 6, 2026

Acusensus is continuing to partner with Suffolk Police to deploy our Heads-Up technology across the county. This initiative targets two of the most dangerous contributing factors to road casualties: handheld mobile phone use and seatbelt non-compliance.

This expanded deployment gives Suffolk Constabulary a deeper understanding of driver behaviour while enabling actionable enforcement and education where appropriate. All detected offences are reviewed by human officers before any action is taken, ensuring fairness and accuracy while supporting ongoing strategies to reduce deaths and serious injuries on UK roads.

As our UK General Manager, Geoff Collins, explains:

“Using a handheld mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt are two of the ‘fatal 4’ factors most likely to lead to death or serious injury on the roads. We now have a proven solution that not only automatically identifies the behaviours, but allows us to deal with them through education or where necessary, prosecution. This project will demonstrate not only the size of the problem, but also how we can solve it.”
