Acusensus signs contract with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads

February 6, 2023

Acusensus is proud to be working on another leading road safety initiative from the Department of Transport and Main Roads, bringing down speeds through the regions of Queensland using the Acusensus enforcement trailer technology.

Acusensus’ technology will be deployed in regional and remote areas, as well as metropolitan cities, across Queensland.

Queensland recorded 299 road fatalities last year, its highest in 10 years. Acusensus will be commencing its five-year trailer-based speed enforcement program this year, this follows Acusensus’ current operations of Queensland’s successful mobile phone and seat belt camera program.

Alexander Jannink, Acusensus’ founder and Managing Director, said the decision to use trailer-mounted mobile speed cameras would help improve driver behaviour in all parts of the state.

“We are proud of the partnership we have with the Queensland government to supply mobile phone and world first seatbelt detection enforcement solutions, and to now extend that partnership by supplying trailer-based speed enforcement cameras state-wide. The majority of road deaths in Queensland are regional and this program is a key initiative to save lives across the state.”
