Advancing the 2026 UK Road Safety Strategy through Innovation
Devon and Cornwall Police have demonstrated leadership in the road safety space by implementing award winning initiatives to detect seatbelt and illegal mobile phone use, highlighting how partnerships foster a safer road culture. This collaboration, using unique relocatable trailers from Acusensus, shares our mission to be lifelong advocates for road safety, focusing on correcting dangerous driving behaviours rather than simply monitoring them. By prioritising social impact, we work alongside leaders to ensure every road user returns home safely, supporting a proactive Safe System where technology, policy and education protects lives.
The 2026 UK Road Safety Strategy sets an ambitious path, aiming for a 65% reduction in fatalities and serious injuries by 2035 – this equates to approximately a 10% annual reduction, which demands a change in approach. Road deaths are preventable; Acusensus remains focused on providing the innovative solutions in the UK necessary to meet these national targets and drive real impact. Our focus remains on the lives saved through behaviour change, ensuring safety is the standard for everyone. We are proud to have partners such as Devon & Cornwall Police to work together to apply these solutions today.
