Fostering Sustainable Behaviour Change at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2026

March 24, 2026

The technology exists. The evidence is clear. The question for every jurisdiction is simply: when do you start?

At Intertraffic Amsterdam, Acusensus Chief Customer Officer Duncan Murcott presented on the Vision Zero Imperative – making the case for why automated enforcement, done right, is the most powerful tool we have for sustainable behaviour change on our roads.

The data is compelling:
– In NSW, distracted driving offences have fallen 83% since enforcement commenced, from 1 in 200 drivers to 1 in 1,200.
– In Queensland, roughly 50 Queenslanders are alive today who wouldn’t be, a direct result of the seatbelt enforcement program.
– In Devon and Cornwall, phone and seatbelt offences are down 80%.
– In Minnesota, a high-risk highway recorded zero road deaths in 2025, down from five the year before.

These results don’t happen by accident. They happen when jurisdictions commit to moving enforcement from pilot to ongoing operational program — and when the technology is designed around legitimacy, privacy, and genuine safety outcomes rather than revenue.

The time to act is now.
