International Women’s Day Spotlight: Aimee Allen

This International Women’s Day, the Acusensus team is taking the opportunity to highlight the diverse talent throughout our organisation.

One of the great minds behind the Acusensus Road Worker Safety project is Aimee Allen, who is currently researching robotics for her doctorate at Monash University. Aimee specifically focuses on investigating human-robot interactions, specifically the sounds robots could or should make around humans.

“I want to do robotics,” Aimee says in The Australian’s Women in Education Special Report. “I want something that exists in reality. I want to do the hard hardware.”

Aimee expects to finish her thesis in August this year and hopes to continue her work in the Acusensus Road Worker Safety team, where she is assisting in building mechatronic multi-modal devices to decrease road worker-related deaths and injuries, one of the deadliest occupations.
