National Road Safety Week 2026: Plan your journey

May 22, 2026

The transition from a busy day to the driver’s seat can often feel rushed. However, the most important part of any trip happens before the wheels even turn. As National Road Safety Week continues, today’s focus is on a practical, simple habit: Plan your journey.

Distracted driving is a choice, even when it doesn’t feel like one. It can stem from trying to multi-task, such as setting a GPS, adjusting a playlist or checking a route while already in motion. By taking an extra minute while parked to set our technology and route, we remove the temptation to reach for a device later. It allows us to give the road our full, undivided attention.

Planning ahead isn’t about being a perfect driver, it’s about creating an environment where we can focus on what matters most, getting ourselves and those around us to our destinations safely.
