Stepping Up for Road Safety in Western Australia
As Rural Road Safety Month continues, we are celebrating how our team members embody the “It’s Time to Step Up” theme in their communities, both professionally and personally. This week, we’re proud to highlight Ammar Mahmood, our Senior Machine Learning Engineer, based in Perth. Ammar embodies the “Step Up” spirit by participating in running events, a personal challenge that reflects the continuous effort to make our roads safer. His commitment extends to his work, where he is dedicated to continuously refining and improving our machine learning and AI technology, applying these advancements across all our road safety programs globally.
Ammar’s location in Western Australia gives him a direct connection with Acusensus‘ world-first Multi-function Enforcement program. This program uses transportable trailers to simultaneously detect distracted driving, non-compliant seatbelt use and speeding. It is designed to provide comprehensive enforcement capabilities statewide, directly addressing the disproportionately high number of road fatalities that occur on regional roads.
Every action, whether on the road or in our daily lives, contributes to a larger goal. This month, we’re reminded that road safety is a shared responsibility, and every choice we make could help save a life. The Acusensus team is dedicated to this mission, as we believe our collective efforts can create a safer future for all road users.
